Paris cheese museum

Paris tiny cheese museum is Paris' newest museum. Cheesemaker Pierre Brisson opened the Musée du Fromage to showcase traditional cheesemaking processes. Visitors learn about cheese and the history of France’s agriculture. There are cheesemaking demos in the museum where you can take part in workshops and sample the final product.

Musée du fromage is close to Berthillon ice-cream shop in Ile Saint-Louis.

Paris wax museum

Grévin Wax Museum was founded in 1882 on the model of Madame Tussauds. The museum brings back great people and events of history in realistic wax copies: political leaders such as Charles de Gaulle of France and Barak Obama of the USA, actors as Marylin Monroe and Charlie Chaplin. Many other well known people from the past and today will welcome you as if they were real, sometimes even confusing you.

Located in the animated right bank boulevards, the Grévin Museum features spectacular wax scenes from French history. You will specially admire the realistic scenes from the dramatic 1789 French revolution. The Grévin Wax Museum also features a mirage room and a magic trick theater. Children will like the museum and be excited by its entertaining deforming mirrors.

Paris Air and Space Museum

The Air and Space Museum is one of the most overlooked museums in the city. It pays tribute to the early 20th century air pioneers, many of them French, with 175 historic airplanes. Based at Le Bourget Airport, north from the city, the museum attracts adults, children and families. If you want to see historic planes and cars in downtown, visit the Musée des Arts et Métiers.

Marmottan Monet Museum

The intimate Marmottan Monet Museum on the western edge of the city is little known although it hosts 65 Monet paintings. Impression Soleil Levant is a 1872 painting that gave its name to the impressionist movement.

Not to be confused with Centre Pompidou, the Musée d'Art Moderne is another extraordinary 20th century modern art museum in the city. It has some 6000 pieces of art, many of them first class. Its bright and spacious interior is a perfect setting for the permanent collections and the remarkable temporary exhibitions. The museum is famous for its paintings by Giorgio de Chirico, Robert Delaunay, Raoul Dufy, Fernand Léger, Henri Matisse and Kees Van Dongen.
