Europe’s richest and most prestigious race, the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, takes place over the first weekend of October each year in the city. The race attracts the greatest racehorses from around the world. It usually takes place at the Longchamp racecourse in Bois de Boulogne.
Redevelopment work is currently taking place in Longchamp. The race is temporarily moved to the beautiful Chantilly racecourse, north of Charles de Gaulle Airport.
