You have just 3 hours to spend in Montmartre, the hilly and picturesque village of Paris. It is possible to discover its main sights walking leisurely.
Start from Abbesses metro station (marker 1 on map below) on line 12. Enjoy lively rue des Abbesses, its atmosphere, its many Parisian shops and cafés (2).
Continue to Bateau lavoir (3), its memories of Pablo Picasso and other great painters who lived there. Then head off to Moulin de la Galette (4), the lovely Paris windmill.
Go to famous Place du Tertre (5) and its painters. Continue to the historic 12th century Saint-Pierre de Montmartre church and the impressive Sacré-Coeur (6). Enjoy the fantastic Paris view from the top of the staircase.
Get back to Abbesses metro station (8) down the stairs and through Place Saint-Pierre (7). Take your time. Enjoy the shops and cafés. Live Montmartre as Parisians do.
