History of Paris Arcades

Paris shopping arcades emerged in early 19th century. Covered with glass roofs, they were the place to shop. Decorated with mosaic floors, cast iron gates and marble pillars, Paris shopping arcades inspired similar arcades in European cities such as London, Naples and Leipzig.

After years of decay, they have reemerged as out of the beaten track romantic Paris shopping malls.
