The Rodin Museum in Paris (Musée Rodin)

The Paris Rodin museum (Musée Rodin in French) is hosted in a lovely 18th century private palace, very close to the Invalides military hospital in Paris. It displays a large first class collection of Rodin's sculpture.

Auguste Rodin was a French sculptor and lived during the 19th century. He brought freshness and vigor to the very academic art of that time.

Among his many great works displayed in the museum, the hell's gates, the Calais burgers (right) and the thinker are stunning pieces of art.

These very strong and expressive pieces of sculpture were quite a shock when they appeared in the middle of the 19th century.

The palace large French style garden (left) is a pleasant oasis in the middle of the city.
