Sports is certainly an overlooked side of Paris. You may know the Roland Garros tennis tournament in June and the Tour de France cycling race, with its final stage on the Champs Elysees avenue end of July. What about the great Paris international Marathon (right on Champs-Elysees) in April and the Paris Masters (Paris Tennis Open) in November? |

You can go to a soccer game at Parc des Princes stadium, with its PSG soccer team. The Bercy indoor stadium stages many great sports events. Paris also has a world class stadium with Stade de France. It was the venue of the France 98 soccer world cup final (France beat Brazil 3/0). The Stade de France was the venue of the Rugby 2007 world cup final (South Africa beat England). |
