Le Forum des Halles and Les Quatre Temps in La Défense, two of the most important shopping malls in Paris, have passed under the banner of Westfield. Westfield is the signature brand for emblematic shopping malls worldwide such as Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City in London, Westfield Century City and Westfield UTC in California, or Westfield World Trade Center in New York City. The deployment of the Westfield brand in continental Europe was announced during the 2018 acquisition of Westfield by Unibail-Rodamco, the European leader, to form Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, "the first creator and global operator of destination Shopping Malls ". Six large shopping malls in Grand Paris are concerned: Les Quatre Temps, the Forum des Halles, Vélizy 2, Parly 2, Carré Sénart and Rosny 2.
Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield specifies that these shopping malls share several characteristics. They are already destinations on their own, with excellent location and accessibility, high quality of architecture and design, an optimal range of brands, a recognized quality of service, the ability to offer emblematic events, and best practices in terms of CSR. Westfield is the only truly global brand in the industry. The brand’s deployment in Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield’s flagship destination shopping malls comes at a time when visitors are expressing new expectations and are increasingly seeking to experience sensory and emotional experiences, beyond simple shopping.
Events are the signature of Westfield shopping malls. Internationally renowned artists such as Lady Gaga, Rita Ora, Rihanna or John Legend have already performed in Westfield centers in the United States or the United Kingdom, and world or European previews of films such as The Nut cracker and the Four Realms, Iron Man 2 or The Avengers: Age of Ultron were organized there. Events will be offered to celebrate the launch of the Westfield brand in Paris, then regularly after the launch.
