So far, Paris is dry and hot this summer. This is good news for sightseeing. But, you may be looking for a cool place to spend the evening. Le Chalet des Iles in Bois de Vincennes at walking distance from Paris Zoo is the right place. Get to Porte Doree metro station on line 8. Walk 15’ alongside Lac Daumesnil to this oasis of trees, flowers and water.
Le Chalet des Iles is a large outdoor restaurant that hardly has any equivalent in Paris. The atmosphere is trendy and relaxed. The food is first class with in particular excellent beef and a fantastic Baba au rhum, a traditional Paris pastry, that can feed four people. Yesterday night, our party of six had a delicious dinner. We paid 250 euros including an excellent bottle of Chinon, a Cabernet wine from the Loire Valley. This is not more than what you pay in most Paris restaurants at night. A unique summer experience in Paris on a dry day. Web site. More top restaurants in Paris.
