The Palace of Versailles is about 20km south west of Paris. There are a number of alternatives to get from Paris to Versailles. You must buy a special ticket or a Paris metro pass 6 zones (also usable from Paris airport to Paris). The trip takes 40 minutes (trains leave every 20 or 30 minutes). Count 10 minute walk from the station to the Palace. You can also reach Versailles by taking a train from Paris to Versailles, at Gare Montparnasse on the left bank or Gare Saint-Lazare on the right bank. The destination stations in Versailles are a bit farther from the Palace. |
