Trip to Paris   Sherry from USA   19:45   October 14, 2008
I am planning a trip to Paris in May and do not know the best area to stay. I want to see the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, shop in Paris and see the top sites. Any advice, is Montmartre area, or Neuilly (Mariott)good places to stay?

Sherry, I would not stay in Neuilly nor Montmartre as these are rather remote places from the sights you mention. I advise you to focus on our recommendations near Louvre museum and on the left bank, both pleasant and more central districts. Have a great stay in Paris.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH THE ADVICE GIVEN BY SHERIE(ABOVE). IF YOU DO VENTURE UP TO MONTMARTRE, BE ON GUARD FOR UN-SAVORY CHARACTERS. MY FAVORITE AREA TO STAY IS IN THE 1ST ARRONDISMENT, NEAR THE JARDIN DE TUILLERIES. FROM THERE, ITS A SHORT WALK TO NOTRE DAME, LOUVRE, AND THE LATIN QUARTER.
GREAT RESTAURANTS IN LATIN QUARTER. I'M LEAVING FOR PARIS AND THE SOUTH THIS SATURDAY.
