I will visit Paris for the first time on my honeymoon in March. We will spend 5 nights there. I have wanted to visit Paris for years as it is the birthplace of Surrealism. I would appreciate any tips on where to visit, what to see, and what famous surrealist locations and landmarks there are to visit.
Thank you!

Mike, this is a difficult question that would deserve an answer from a specialist. A few tips. The surrealism was born near Montmartre at 42, rue Fontaine 75009 Paris. André Breton lived there from 1922 to 1966 when he died. Many surrealist artists met 54, rue du Chateau 75014 Paris where they perfomed the first ”Cadavres exquis” in 1926. The house has disappeared. You will find surrealist paintings in Musee d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris (http://www.paris.fr/portail/english/Portal.lut?page_id=8229 ) and in Centre Pompidou (http://www.parisdigest.com/monument/centrepompidou.htm ). We found a good article in French with the pictures and locations of the top sights in Nadja written by Andre Breton (http://www.terresdecrivains.com/Sur-les-pas-de-Nadja-et-Andre ). Have a great honeymoon in Paris.
