Hi. I am planning a short trip to Paris with my mother at the end of summer. I have looked at a nice hotel, Hotel Europe Saint Severin in the Latin quarter and read the reviews, but I am worried about the order of purchasing the museum pass or the Eiffel tower and Seine cruise and when to do it. A month before? Or should I wait until I arrive in Paris? Is is better to book ahead of time online or through a service that has package deals? Is the weather going to be stifling? I am just throwing out a whole bunch of questions for now. If anyone has an experience with a short 5-6 day trip to Paris, where you mainly went to the Louvre, The Eiffel Tower, a Seine River cruise and magnificent Notre Dame, please drop me a line. Teresa
Teresa, our recommendation would be to prepare your own itineray, purchase your museum pass and book your cruise in advance. You will be more relaxed while in Paris. Don’t do too much each day as it would be tiring. In 5/6 days, you will see a lot anyway. We also recommend you to take a bus tour out of Paris to either Versailles, Giverny, the Loire castles or the Champagne vineyards. You may use our email address for more advice. Have a nice trip to Paris.
Bon jour Teresa: I visited Paris in May & June, rented an apt. for two weeks, cooked our meals, walked up to Louvre ticket window & boat ticket windows on the Seine banks (no advance purchase necessary). There were no lines at Tour Eiffel. Paris is surrounded by forests & lots of rain & thunderstorms. If you're going after school starts, there won't be lines anywhere. Take umbrella and have fun!
