Is there a place at Charles de Gaulle or nearby where I can store my family's 8 bags of luggage for a few days while we visit Paris during a stopover?

Fred, there are no bagage lockers at Charles de Gaulle for security reasons.One company provides such services. Have a look at this website for information in English and this for their telephone number and prices (in French). Enjoy your stay in Paris.
