Jules Verne restaurant at Eiffel Tower

Jules Verne restaurant at Eiffel Tower   Paris Digest from France   19:32   January 13, 2010
The Jules Verne restaurant is one of the most famous restaurants in Paris. At 125 meters above the ground and on the second floor of the Eiffel tower, the Jules Verne is undoubtedly the most scenic restaurant in Paris. As much is said, good or bad, these days about the Jules Vernes, we went there yesterday. The day in Paris was cold and snowy. It was one of these rare days when the tourists don’t queue up at the Eiffel Tower. The Jules Verne restaurant was not completely full, which is unusual. You normally have to book long in advance. Pay attention to the fact that it is hard to cancel a reservation. If you don’t show up, you will be charged the meal. The private entrance at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, the spectacular private lift to the second floor, the reception are impecable. The restaurant is split into three cosy and medium size dining rooms. Make sure you book a table near the window as the view is breathtaking. The service is French style and first class. The meal was altogether very good and we enjoyed the selection of Bourgogne and Bordeaux wines. The Jules Verne restaurant is now managed by Alain Ducasse, one of the best French cooks and there is no compromise with quality, which is great for such a touristic place. At lunch time, you can choose the 85 euros three course menu. The three glasses wine selection that goes with it costs 40 euros. This is a high price, but compared with other Paris restaurants, it is all in all really worth it. We would recommend to go for lunch as the dinner is much more expensive. Go to the Jules Verne restaurant for a great occasion and book long in advance. See our selection of restaurants with view
