Adding to the message below, will you have to show identification (passport) to get into the government sites? And about what time do they open? I am trying to time my arrival so that we are close to the front of the line.

Thanks!

Bonnie, you may have to show an ID at some government sites, but rarely. Many sights will open at 9am, but people will get much earlier to the most visited sights like Palais de l'Elysée (presidential office). Last year, we got in easily into Institut de France (the French academy), Le Senat (in Luxembourg gardens) and Banque de France, three very interesting sights. Enjoy your time in Paris.
