Hi, what is your dollar called and how much is the average meals cost in Paris? How much tips are usually given to hotel busboys? I think they're called. I don't know what they call them in Paris, but they are the one's that carry your luggage to your room or open the doors for you at the entrance?

The currency in France, and 14 other European countries as Germany, Spain and Italy, is the Euro. See http://www.parisdigest.com/information/euro_converter.htm for the exchange rate. There are many restaurants for French working people where they serve menus at below 15 euros, but you won’t find them in touristic areas. Chinese restaurants are quite cheap. You can get a quite good French meal for 30 euros. It can also be much more expensive in touristic areas and at gastronomic restaurants. You really have to look around. You can give tips of two euros although you don’t have too. Have a great time in Paris.

We have just checked on SNCF web site (railways). A one way train ticket to Caen, Normandy, may cost 30 euros at best. Prices are higly variable depending on when you book and when you go. You then have to rent a car. An alternative is a bus tour from Paris. All in all, they are both practical and economical. See our selections at http://www.parisdigest.com/normandy_tours.htm .
