CONCERT OF CHORAL MUSIC
The Austin College A Cappella Choir will present a concert of sacred a cappella choral music on Friday May 20th, 2011 at 4:00 pm at The Church of La Madeleine. The concert is free and open to the public and will include sacred works in Latin, Russian, Xhosa, and English as well as American spirituals.
The Austin College A Cappella Choir, from Sherman, Texas, USA, is directed by Dr. Wayne Crannell and is composed of 40 voices and performs unaccompanied music of the Renaissance, 19th — 21st centuries ranging from the traditional to modern. The singers are undergraduate university students studying music and many other areas.
Austin College, founded in 1849, is a small, private university in Sherman, Texas, USA 100 km north of Dallas. Austin College students study the arts and sciences with emphasis on pre-medical preparation, law, political science, international studies, and the humanities.
