Sam, it will take you 30 minutes to get out of the terminal. You will have to check in again one hour before your next flight. That leaves you with two hours or a little more. If your flights are not at rush hour and you really want to see something of Paris, you could take a taxi and try Montmartre. Montmartre is on the right side of Paris. From Sacre Coeur in Montmartre, you will have a great view over Paris. With no guarantee as traffic is unpredictable. See our page.

How much time would you need to go from Charles de Gaulle airport to the Eiffel Tower, visit the Eiffel Tower, then get back to Charles de Gaulle airport? To be very safe, I would count 90 minutes by metro one way, including waiting and walking time, 60 minutes to visit the Eiffel Tower. Altogether 4 hours. To that, you have to add the time to get out of the plane, pass the customs, then check in time on the way back. I would count altogether 6 hours between planes to be safe.
