from America, 2009-11-04 16:06:41)
So, during my junior year in high school, I'm going on a trip to none other than FRANCE! :D You can't even imagine how exited I am! Hahaha. However, I have no idea what to expect. So, I wanted to ask the people who have been to France a little about it.

Hotel Area Options ? (Shane Campbell
from Ireland, 2009-10-11 19:44:07)
We wish to visit Stade de France next September. We have never been to the city and wanted to use the Metro to get to the stadium. Advice would be greatly appreciated on which area of hotels is best for accessing the Metro to get to the stadium.
Thanks,
Shane

Paris semi-marathon in 2010 (Paris Digest
from France, 2009-10-11 16:31:10)
We ran the 20km race this morning. Around 25 000 people ran from the Eiffel Tower back to the Eiffel Tower, throught the Bois de Boulogne and along the Seine river quays. Sports, fun and sightseeing combined. If you come to Paris in the spring, we recommend you the Paris semi-marathon on March 7th. See at

Stopping in Paris (Chris Collins
from UK, 2009-10-11 13:09:53)
We are travelling to the Dordogne next August from England and are looking to break our journey by stopping one night in Paris on August 13th, a Friday night, We shall be travelling from Calais.
We are a family of 7 people, 2 parents and 5 children aged 20,18,17,11 and 7.
We are wondering what is the best plan as with so many of us cost is very important. We think we shall arrive on the Friday afternoon and leave mid morning on the Saturday. We would like to see the main sights, but being restricted by time, we think this would be best served by taking an evening cruise along the Seine.
We see that there are 2 main options. Staying on the outskirts of Paris and taking a bus/metro/taxi into the centre or staying in the centre. We would like bed and breakfast and we would need to know what parking facilities are available as we will have a people mover with a roof box and a bike rack on the back. We are not looking for luxury accommodation, just basic and clean.
Can you please help us by advising on the options as we would love our children to experience Paris. If the cost is reasonable, then we would plan a similar stop on the return journey on August 28th, a Saturday night.
Your help and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Merci,
Chris and Louise Collins

Journees du patrimoine Paris (Paris Digest
from France, 2009-09-16 15:09:23)
For those of you who are in Paris next week-end (Septembre 19th and 20th), a final reminder. Don't miss the Journées du Patrimoine (Paris heritage day). Most sights of interest will be open to the public whole day. Avoid the most famous ones where the queues can be very long. It is almost impossible to get a list of all the sights. Our recommendation: you can rent a Velib bicycle to go from sight to sight. Enjoy your week end in Paris.
